Graduates of both Accounting and Finance and Business Technology Management streams are eligible to apply for professional membership with IFA, subject to academic and work experience requirements.

Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) – Australia
The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) in Australia has acknowledged the academic standards of the University of Jaffna’s commerce programs. Graduates of the Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Accounting and Finance and Business Technology Management are eligible to apply for Associate or full membership with IPA, depending on qualifications and experience.
This affiliation allows our graduates to join one of Australia’s major professional accounting bodies and pursue career opportunities globally.
Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) – Australia
Graduates of the Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Accounting and Finance are eligible to pursue the CPA Program offered by CPA Australia, one of the world’s leading accounting bodies.
Recognition of the program’s curriculum may grant exemptions from foundation-level CPA subjects, enabling students to fast-track their qualification journey. CPA Australia membership opens access to professional networks, global mobility, and leadership roles in accounting and finance.
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

AICPA & CIMA – Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
The University of Jaffna has been officially recognized as an AICPA & CIMA Accredited University Partner, with accredited entry points to the CGMA qualification pathway.
Eligible students benefit from a 70% scholarship on their investment and may begin the CGMA qualification during their final undergraduate year.
Under the AICPA & CIMA partnership, the Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Accounting and Finance program has been granted direct entry to the Managerial Level of the CGMA qualification pathway. Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Business Technology Management program has been recognized for entry at the Operational Level.
Certified Management Accountants (CMA) – Australia
Through a curriculum mapping exercise, CMA Australia has granted generous subject exemptions and direct program access
According to the accreditation granted by CMA Australia, students enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Accounting and Finance program are eligible for exemptions from 16 subjects and receive direct access to the CMA Qualifying Programme. Meanwhile, those in the Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Business Technology Management program are granted exemptions from 12 subjects and are eligible for entry into the GMA Graduate Conversion Programme.
Graduates may progress through CMA Australia’s membership tiers: GMA, AMA, and CMA, depending on qualifications and experience.
